What is this stupid website that you have to use to get an appointment !!! I wouldn’t be phoning unless I needed to see a doctor!!!! What if you were not computer savvy or didn’t have access to internet or computer/phone!!!!

Thanks so much for your feedback - it's super helpful to hear your views. DoctorLink is a new symptom checker website which all Calne Practices are piloting at present. Here at Beversbrook, it helps to make sure that our patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician and in a timeframe to suit their health needs. We also use it to update your records with symptoms you have reported via the website. Doctorlink can be used as a tool to help our bookings team but is more valuable for the clinician to have sight of your symptoms prior to your appointment. This means our patients can get the best out of their ten minute consultation and that we can offer an improved level of clinical care. Patients who do not have internet access but request a same day appointment are triaged in the normal way but this may require a call back from a clinician or where more immediate advice is sought the patient may be advised to call NHS 111. We have been piloting Doctorlink for over half a year now and what we have found is that patients are using Doctorlink when they first become unwell and want advice on how to manage symptoms before needing to see a GP. The surgery is using a new on line service to determine if you need a emergency appointment the questions are very vague and inadequate in my opinion. I was told to contact the surgery for an appointment they didn't have any, so I was told that I would get a call which I didn't. I tried to call back for 1.5 hours with no answer and no where to leave a message. The surgery never called i had to call them. I appreciate the service is over stretched but I can assure you this new service will not help in reducing visits or customer satisfaction.

Thanks for your feedback, which is very helpful. I am sorry that you have found the new Doctorlink Triage service has not met your needs. We are using Doctorlink to ensure that patients are offered a timely appointment by the most appropriate clinician. On the whole this is working very well and our Patient access has greatly improved as a result. However, like any new system we appreciate there are probably going to be some teething problems and we are grateful for the patience and support of our patients whilst we implement this. Hearing about experiences such as yours is useful to us and to the developers of the website so that we can make the system useful for all patients. I have never not been able to get an appointment when I needed one. The surgery is welcoming and warm. There aren't loads of people waiting to see the Doctors, it would appear that the appointment system works very well, my appointment was made over the phone and I got an appointment the same day. I only had to wait a couple of minutes before going in to see the doctor. I was happy with my diagnosis and the level of care and attention given by the doctor.
